Happy Summer!

The Summer Sweat & Shine Series has one goal in mind -> to help you SHINE from the inside-out.  Part of the goal is to get you moving so you can reap all the benefits that sweat provides, including:

  1. Endorphins – a.k.a. “Happy Hormones”
  2. Detoxification – did you know that toxins get eliminated from your body when you sweat?!
  3. Physical Fitness – strength, injury prevention + longevity
  4. Stamina – a.k.a. “Heart Health”
  5. Flexibility – “Buh-Bye” stiff, sore, achy joints and muscles

Yes – there are SO many reasons to move.  Weight loss is totally ok too, if that’s your goal – but try to focus on the ALL of the reasons “WHY” sweat is so wonderful, not just the scale!  If you have more than one “why” your “stick-with-it” will probably increase a LOT!

Another goal with the series is to demonstrate that you can do a LOT with only a few pieces of equipment.  Fancy fitness stuff is fun (of course) but you can’t always travel with it and it can get pricy.  SO for the sake of sustainability, affordability (hello COVID!), time, space and storage – your equipment list is super simple, stackable and very cost effective!  P.s. you might already have everything in your house!

Here is your list + a photo of everything you need!

  1. Exercise mat
  2. 2 x dumbbells – 5-8 lbs. is great*
  3. Step stool – *a toddler-sized is ideal
  4. Exercise loop (a.k.a. “booty band”)
  5. Sliders (or, 2 hand towels)

You should be able to purchase everything on this list at your local “everything” store.  I.e. Superstore and Walmart both carry most of these items.  You will likely find sliders and an exercise loop at a specialty fitness store, or you can order them off of Amazon!  All in all, everything on this list should be fairly easy to find (if you don’t have them) and cost no more than $45.  Not bad since you can reuse them not only throughout this series but well into the future!

One more tip!  Create a an exercise space in your house that you enjoy!  Since the equipment is super space savvy and you can do the workout pretty much anywhere (from your smart phone), make sure your series sweat space is welcoming.  If you enjoy it, you will look forward to your workouts even MORE!
